Rachůnek, Radek ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
The thesis deals with the development of a mathematical model of the internal combustion engine for vehicles used in space missions. It includes a summary of the historical development and the possible future of the vehicles. It describes the external influences acting on the engine, summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of using an internal combustion engine. A separate chapter focuses on fuel selection with respect to the availability of local resources. The next part of the thesis is devoted to the development of a mathematical model according to a sample real engine. Here, the step-by-step process of modifications to create the engine model is described, considering the information from the previous chapters. The thesis includes an evaluation of the internal combustion engine to see if it represents a suitable alternative to current powertrains.
GRAIL and LOLA Satellite Data Resolve the Long-Lasting Convergence/Divergence Problem for the Analytical Downward Continuation of the External Spherical Harmonic Expansions
Šprlák, Michal ; Han, Shin-Chan ; Pitoňák, Martin ; Novák, Pavel
Spherical harmonic expansions are routinely used to represent the gravitational potential and its higherorder spatial derivatives in global geodetic, geophysical, and planetary science applications. The convergence domain of external spherical harmonic expansions is the space outside the minimum Brillouin sphere (the smallest sphere containing all masses of the planetary body). Nevertheless, these expansions are commonly employed inside this bounding surface without any corrections. Justification of this procedure has been debated for several decades, but conclusions among scholars are indefinite and even contradictory. In this contribution, we examine the use of external spherical harmonic expansions for the gravitational field modelling inside the minimum Brillouin sphere. We employ the most recent lunar topographic LOLA (Lunar Orbiter Laser Altimeter) products and the measurements of the lunar gravitational field by the GRAIL (Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory) satellite mission. We analyse selected 39 http://dx.doi.org/10.13164/seminargnss.2023.38 quantities calculated from the most recent GRAIL-derived gravitational field models and forwardmodelled (topography-inferred) quantities synthesised by internal/external spherical harmonic expansions. The comparison is performed in the spectral domain (in terms of degree variances depending on the spherical harmonic degree) and in the spatial domain (in terms of spatial maps). To our knowledge, GRAIL is the first gravitational sensor ever, which helped to resolve the long-lasting convergence/divergence problem for the analytical downward continuation of the external spherical harmonic expansions, see [1].
Calculation of orbit for Solar research satellite
Stopka, Jiří ; Daněk, Vladimír (referee) ; Bartoněk, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to propose a suitable methodology for finding orbits around the Earth in which it will be possible to create conditions for a total solar eclipse. The methodology for orbit determination is designed and implemented through a Pascal scripting language, which is included in this work. The resulting orbits obtained using the proposed methodology are mutually evaluated. The thesis also includes a discussion on the scope of applicability of this methodology.

The creation of the image of the race to the Moon in Wings of the Motherland and Aviation+Cosmonautics between 1961 and 1972
Čermák, Ondřej ; Cihlářová, Gabriela (advisor) ; Jirků, Jan (referee)
Bachelor thesis "The Creation of the Image of the Race to the Moon in Wings of the Motherland and Aviation + Cosmonautics between 1961 and 1972" deals with the development of the Moonrace between United States of America and their rival Soviet Union as it is described on the pages of the above-mentioned periodicals. These periodicals mostly contain topics that can be characterized as popular scientific or even purely scientific. In their early years they were generally oriented upon aviation and parachuting. During the 1960s as the public interest for space was growing the periodicals adopted astronautics into its range of topics as well. This paper tries to reveal if the mediation of the Moonrace topic somehow twisted its general image for the sake of USA or Soviet Union. At the same level it aims to tell what were the reasons behind and how much space did the Moonrace and its development occupy on the pages of these periodicals. This paper methodically analyzes the contents of each periodical that is tied to the topic of Moonrace. Afterwards it carries out comparisons and generalizations based on the results of the previous analysis. Equally there is performed a quantitative content analysis of the articles on astronautic and space in general to get objective data. The analysis is based on the...
Economic analysis of moon phases on human behaviour
Klečková, Tereza ; Strielkowski, Wadim (advisor) ; Lelovská, Adriána (referee)
The moon and its lunar cycle is a theme that occurs in society since time immemorial. Does lunar cycle affect human life including its economic and social aspects? Do ordinary people and managers of large corporations act differently when the moon is full? Does consumer behavior change? Is at the time of the full moon rising crime and accidents? Can the effect of month on human behavior be scientifically tested? Although the above -mentioned topic may seem a bit bizarre I decided to process it in my thesis. Nowadays is popularization of science very important and widely used by for example the leading economic faculties of leading universities in the USA and the UK. This work attempts to answer the above questions and test the above mentioned context by using econometric methods. In this work we can read about the moon and myths and legends which are bind to it. The thesis presents several studies that have addressed the topic before, and their results. And then it will analyze available data from three basic areas of human behavior - crime, healthcare and business. The results which I reached are interesting and significantly confirm the influence of the lunar cycle in two of three selected aspects of human behavior - health and trade.
Natural environment of the Moon
Lulák, Martin ; Kalvoda, Jan (advisor) ; Křížek, Marek (referee)
This presented bachelor paper aims to describe the environment of the Moon based on accessible publications. It is especialy focused on the morphology of the most striking lunar landforms, as well as the origin of the Moon and its geological evolution, description of formation and characteristics of lunar regolith and effects of space weathering on lunar landforms. The second part of the paper is aimed at the morphological description of large impact craters - Tycho and Plato. Owing to the different age of these selected complex craters, it is possible by correlation of their patterns to demonstrate effects of main processes changing the Moon's surface. Key words: Moon, impactor, impact craters, space weathering, multi-ring impact basin, regolith, selenography, Tycho, Plato
Nature of magnetic anomalies on Moon, sample analysis
Kameníková, Tereza ; Kletetschka, Günther (advisor) ; Blecha, Vratislav (referee)
The magnetic properties of a rocks on Earth are mostly well known. But what is the magnetic properties of a rocks which originate extraterrestrial? Such as on Moon. We are interested in the intensity of paleofield of some Moon rocks which were chipped by Apollo 15 in early 70s. The text is an unification of the basic knowledge of a magnetism, the way how it originates. You can found here also the basics of paleomagnetism and methods how the rocks can get own magnetisation, their properties and some outline how the Moon rocks can get own magnetisation if moon doesn't have a dynamo. Then we summaries the information got from measurements of two Moon rocks 15404.219 and 15445.277, which were divided to subsamples and measured in Paleomagnetic laboratory in Czech Academy of Sciences. Each subsample was measured separately on 2G cryogenic magnetometer. We were interested in AF (alternating field) remanent magnetisation spectra from which we got an estimating intensity of paleofield from which the samples got own magnetisation. The final part is devoted to discussion on topic of possible existence of lunar dynamo or other possibilities how the Moon rocks can have held the magnetisation.
